Trips of Bulgarian citizens abroad and of foreign nationals to Bulgaria up

The number of Bulgarian citizens travelling abroad and of foreign nationals travelling to Bulgaria increased, latest data of the National Statistical Institute shows. In September 2018 a total of 633.4 thousand Bulgarians travelled abroad, which is 11.0% more as compared to the same period in 2017. The number of trips to Turkey increased with 31.9% month on month, to Romania (14.8%) and to Serbia (12.8%). The number of foreign citizens visiting Bulgaria in September amounted to 1.324 million, or 4.2% more as compared to September 2017. 62.9% of the foreign guests were EU citizens, which was 3.1% more as compared to the same month in 2017.
