A 78-year-old man is the second UK citizen to have tested positive for coronavirus in Bulgaria. Earlier today, a positive test was reported of a 9-year-old English child who arrived to the ski resort of Bansko in Pirin Mountain, southwestern Bulgaria, with his uncle's family on Friday on a skiing holiday. The new case is also from Bansko.

By order of the Prosecutor's Office and by decision of the crisis staff in Bansko, the ski area in the resort shall be closed immediately. Foreign nationals in Bansko will be visited by local authorities and will be required to fill out declarations that they are aware of the state of emergency in Bulgaria, Bansko Mayor Ivan Kadev said.

The ski area in the ski resort Pamporovo in Bulgaria's Rhodopi Mountains also ceases operations from March 17 to 29 in connection with the spread of COVID-19 in the country and in view of the safety of all guests in the resort. The hotels in the resort provide meals for the tourists in the rooms.
