The Bulgarians will be given time to get the necessary face-protection masks until April 4 (Saturday) at the latest, the head of the National Crisis Headquarters General Ventsislav Mutafchiyski said. The health inspectorates and the Bulgarian Ministry of Interior will make explicit interpretation what is public place and where people must wear face-protection masks. There are controversial opinions on whether healthy people should wear masks or not, Professor Mutafchiyski said.

The World Health Organization does not recommend this measure, but it is a good practice. China, South Korea, Israel and Austria have also adopted such measures. It is important to limit the damages stemming from the new coronavirus. If we loosen the regime, the health system will not be able to cope with the huge number of infected people, General Mutafchiyski contends.
