“We are not a banana republic and we do not need to be patronized by one country or another,” said Deputy PM and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva for bTV. “The position of US Ambassador Herro Mustafa was not against the cabinet, I talked to her,” Ekaterina Zaharieva said.

Commenting on the anti-government protests Minister Zaharieva said that people wanted justice, and that resigning was the easiest thing to do and that they had done it in the past.

“Whether there will be resignations or not, Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov achieved a historic success and this is something we are yet to see,” said Ekaterina Zaharieva commenting on Bulgaria’s admittance to the Eurozone waiting room. In her words President Rumen Radev is moving on the edge of his constitutional powers.
