The exhibition "Trebenishte. 105 years since the discovery of the necropolis 1918 - 2023" can be viewed virtually on the website of the National Archaeological Institute with Museum with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in the section "Digital exhibitions", BTA reported. The finds from 7 graves of burined warriors are part of the permament exhibition of the National Archaeological Museum. It is the result of joint efforts of archaeologists from Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Serbia.
The necropolis near the village of Trebenishte, located 14 km from Ohrid, was accidentally discovered by the Bulgarian army during road works at the end of World War 1. The artefacts date the necropolis to the late 7th - late 4th century BC.
