The Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the great composer, conductor and professor Vasil Kazandzhiev with a concert this evening in the Bulgaria Concert hall with a performance of his "Holiday Music - Psalms and Rituals".

Academician Vasil Kazandzhiev established himself as one of the European contemporary classics. He is the author of five symphonies, works for symphony orchestra, instrumental concerts, film and theater music, chamber and choral works.

For 14 years, he led the radio orchestra of the BNR.

Under the baton of the visiting conductor Michel Tilkin from Belgium, two more works will be performed - Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin with soloist pianist Plamena Mangova, and the Enigma variations by Edward Elgar.
