In three months, the average salary in Bulgaria went up 5.3% to EUR 1,315.

Preliminary data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) shows a 1.3% increase in employment from March to June 2025, reaching 2.38 million. The hotel and restaurant sector had the largest increase in employment (24.8%), followed by real estate operations (3.5%) and agriculture, forestry and fishing (2.4%).

The average monthly wage in the second quarter of 2025 was BGN 2,572 (EUR 1,315), which is 5.3% higher than in the first quarter of 2025. According to NSI data, the economic activities with the highest increases were 'Education' (21.2%), 'Public administration' (17.9%) and 'Mining' (8.5%). 

 Compared to the second quarter of 2024, the average monthly wage in Bulgaria increased by 12.0%.
