On 12 November at 5:30 p.m., Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, will give a lecture in the Marin Drinov Hall of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, at the invitation of the corresponding member of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Kiril Kartalov, PhD. The cardinal's lecture will be on "Peace on Earth - a deep desire of human beings throughout the ages".

The organisers note that "the visit of such a high-ranking clergyman and diplomat, coming from one of the world's most conflict-ridden regions and dedicated to the cause of peace and justice, is recognition not only of the work of Kiril Kartalov and the authority of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, but also of Bulgaria as a country of peace and tolerance that supports the peaceful resolution of conflicts".
