On December 18, the Bulgarian National Radio presented a special song dedicated to the media. "Our Radio" is a new track composed by Stefan Dimitrov. He tells us more details:
"The idea for the song belongs to Ivan Tenev and Alexander Petrov who wrote the lyrics. The occasion is the 80th anniversary of the Bulgarian National Radio, which we will celebrate on January 25,2015. The song unites different generations of Bulgarian singers. It is well-known that the BNR is the producer of all genres of music. Over the years the media has helped a great number of Bulgarian artists. Here we have recorded and broadcast their songs and because of that they have become popular. Therefore, those who had no other commitments responded to our invitation to come to Studio 1 to record the song “Our Radio”.I would like to use this opportunity to thank them. Some 35 people showed up, we recorded for seven hours in the studio, and then it took us a long time to do the mixing and mastering. We want this song to turn into an identification signal for this media. Each national program and regional radio station has its own "musical packaging" so to say, but we have not yet had a common signal indicating that this is the Bulgarian National Radio. If this song could become one -I will be very happy."
People in Bulgaria love to listen to the radio. This is data from various surveys and the programs of the Bulgarian National Radio traditionally enjoy a high degree of trust on the part of the audience. "The BNR has its place on the air and will continue to have it as the song goes. I think that as a public service media it wonderfully performs its functions - objectively informing, broadcastingall kinds of good music, talking in the literary Bulgarian language, observing good manners and ultimately, this is an institution people trust”, Stefan Dimitrov says. During the recording of the song "Our Radio" the whole creative process has been captured on camera. This footage was used tomake a video shown for the first time on 18 December. The idea is to make a documentary which will be aired on the Bulgarian National Television on the occasion of the forthcoming 80thanniversary of the oldest radio in this country.
"How much music there is on the air…
How many encounters... And how many lives...
Our radio ... You are here…..
With you we start and end each day..."
