In late January, the Bulgarian band Metalwings presented its first video to the song "Crying of the Sun" - one of the ten original songs created by the band so far. Currently they are preparing their debut album.
"Our group is with metal wings, but a tender heart," says Stela Atanasova. An opera singer and a professor of computer music making, she performs the vocals and plays the electric violin. The other members in the group have different professions, but are strongly attracted by the idea to create and perform symphonic gothic metal because they say this is the way to express the best of themselves. Their names are: Grigor Kostadinov - electric guitar, Emo Arsov - drums, Konstantin Uzunov - bass and Angel Kitanov - keyboards. According to them, it requires large stages and real connoisseurs in order to feel the true power and beauty of their compositions.
The band is often dubbed the "Bulgarian Nightwish" because along with its original music, it performs covers of the world-famous band. Metalwings are together on stage since 2010. They have participated in many festivals, but are convinced that the greatest recognition is yet to come upon them.
