The Bulgarian police is to increase security measures in the capital city of Sofia and all across the country. Extra police presence is expected to be seen during mass events such as concerts and other gatherings, it was reported. The security of foreign embassies would also be strengthened, police authorities told the Bulgarian National Radio. The level of border control is going to be stepped up, too. A security meeting of the headquarters for security and migration has taken place in the Interior Ministry. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Rumyana Bachvarova, Defence Minister Nikolay Nenchev, and other ministers and heads of special services. No immediate threat for this country has been identified so far. Stepping up security in Bulgaria is related to the deadly terror attack in Paris, in which more than 130 people died and 200 more were injured. Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov called on citizens to put off planned travels to France.
