Many years ago Dimo Stoyanov (frontman), Ivan Velkov (guitar), Yuri Bozhinov (bass guitar) and Martin Marinov (drums) founded the P.I.F band. They released several music albums over the years, yet it was not the biggest goal of their music career. In 2013 they completed the P.I.F 4 album after a long seven year break. However, their fourth music project contained eighteen pieces. Recently the band released their P.I.F 5 album.
The band's front man Dimo Stoyanov told Radio Bulgaria details about their new project:
“We made this album in two years only, but we worked hard and it took us a lot of time to create these songs. We were looking for the appropriate place which would inspire us the most and eventually we chose a villa on the Shore of the Danube River near Srebarna Nature Reserve. We brought the whole studio equipment there. We isolated ourselves for two weeks and recorded the pieces. Later the mastering process took over one year in a Finish studio. The sound engineer was in fact a Bulgarian national. The new album consists of ten songs, but also includes a bonus of two soundtracks which were made after we returned from that villa to Sofia. These are the so-called urban pieces - one of them is named July and was released for the first time in July last year. The other one is entitled This Day and was released at the end of 2015. I said urban pieces, because they represent the everyday dynamic and intense life atmosphere of the city. They differ from the rest of the pieces which were recorded in a completely different peaceful environment.”
There are videos to the songs July and This Day.
“We are to present our new music album on February 13 in a Sofia music club”, Dimo Stoyanov went on to say. “We will play all songs of the P.I.F 5 album, as well as some old music hits. The album will be sold on the website of our band: pifband.com in three versions: online, on a CD and on a vinyl record. After the presentation in Sofia we are to hold a concert in London on February 25. In March this year we will present our album in some of Bulgaria's biggest cities - Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas and Ruse.”
