Police operation against migrant smuggling near Bulgaria's Svilengrad

Seven traffickers were arrested in the region of Svilengrad, near the Bulgarian-Turkish border during a police operation targeting migrant smuggling, the District Police Directorate in the city of Haskovo reported. Authorities received a signal about a group of illegal migrants that were to be transported to the inner parts of the country. In the police operation that followed, 32 foreign nationals with no identity documents were detained. Reportedly, they came from Iraq, Syria and Turkey and are now in the temporary accommodation center in Lyubimets.
