Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova announced that the Bulgarian Energy Holding borrowed a loan to the tune of EUR 535 million from a consortium formed by three international banks. The National Electric Company will use the money to pay the two US thermal power plants in Maritsa Iztok energy complex. Thus, the new agreements for lower purchase prices of electricity produced at these power plants will enter into force. BEH took a bridge loan and is to issue bonds at the international financial markets in the next twelve months.
