Spring is a season that inspires many an artiste. Surrounded by beauty and burgeoning life, they broach new projects, give concerts, plan tours. Jazz singer Hilda Kazasyan is one such performer - she is starting her second national concert tour in May. What concerts she is planning and where and what music she has included in the concert programme - we find out from Hilda Kazasyan herself:
What will the singer's fans be able to hear:
“We have included new songs, among them the first song I myself have written entitled “If you were here,” Hilda Kazasyan says. “This is the first time I have ever written both music and lyrics, the arrangement is by Hristo Yotsov (percussion) and Zhivko Petrov (piano). I think the song turned out really well. I am glad to say the musicians I work with also liked it. Besides Hristo and Zhivko, the other members of the band are Dimitar Karamfilov (double bass) and Mihail Yossifov (trumpet). We have included other songs of our own, and we shall present our own arrangements of new jazz standards. Overall, we shall be playing the best pieces from our previous tour, but there will be many new songs too.”
After the concert tour comes the summer season and Hilda and the other band members will be very busy:
“I am planning a summer tour in popular jazz clubs in different Black Sea resorts. Then I shall start preparing for an important event, something that has been a great responsibility in my life - a concert in memory of my father, musician Villy Kazasyan, to take place on his birthday, 8 December. I would like to thank the director of the National Palace of Culture Miroslav Borshosh for inviting me to stage the concert in Hall No. 1. I believe it will be the kind of show that is worthy of my father.”
