Delegates of the World League for Freedom and Democracy from all parts of the globe gathered in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia on occasion of the official inauguration of the Bulgarian office of the world organization established in 1954 with the cause to oppose to the totalitarian regimes. The delegates were received by Bulgaria’s President Rossen Plevneliev and discussed with him the situation in the Middle East and the growing popularity of the populist and nationalistic forces in Europe. President Plevneliev pointed out that today freedom and democracy can still prevail in many countries and regions. The most dangerous approach is to hide the truth of the totalitarian regimes from our children, President Plevneliev warned, underlining that the multiple crises in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa are due to the infringement of law supremacy, democracy and human rights and freedoms.
