Great Britain is among the countries Bulgaria has the most sizeable trade with – in 2015 it was 8th in this country’s exports and 16th in exports. In 2015 trade between the two countries marked a 14.5 percent growth compared to the previous year, reaching more than 1 billion euro.

Bulgarian exports went up by 19.9 percent, reaching 587 million and exports – by 8.4 percent, reaching 482 million. Since 2011 there has been a surplus in the balance of trade on the Bulgarian side. Great Britain is emerging as a market with good prospects for Bulgarian textiles, ready-to-wear, furniture and cosmetics, with interest displayed in importing Bulgarian foodstuffs and more specifically organic products and wine. I hope to see these traditionally good relations continue despite the Brexit referendum results, said Bulgarian Deputy Economy Minister Daniela Vezieva.
