In many of the EU Member States there are delays in absorption of EU funds for the period 2014 - 2020. The level of absorption in Bulgaria is under the EU average and the situation in this country is similar to that in countries like Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, and Italy when delays are concerned. This is what Iliana Ivanova, Bulgarian representative in the European Court of Auditors, told the BNR. She added that a special report by the European Court of Auditors, which examines the reasons for delayed absorption of EU funds in some Member States, will be ready soon.
