The decision of the UK to leave the European Union will have a serious impact on the financial resources in the energy system of Bulgaria. The Bulgarian energy sector relies heavily on donor programs of the EU, but Brexit now requires major revision of these funds as the UK used to import around 25 billion euros worth of energy annually, energy expert Professor Atanas Tasev said. He pointed out that it was imperative to focus on the renovation of energy infrastructure.
