Bulgaria’s Armed Forces deployed enough military men and equipment to help the country’s Border Police protect the border with Turkey in case of possible migration pressure, Bulgaria’s Minister of Defense Nikolay Nenchev told media on Sunday. Minister Nenchev, Premier Boyko Borissov and the Chief Secretary of the Interior Ministry Georgi Kostov visited Malko Tarnovo and Rezovo earlier on Saturday to see how Bulgaria’s Police and Army coordinate their actions along the EU external border. The Bulgarian Army is ready to increase its presence on the Bulgaria-Turkey border and help the Border Police if necessary, Minister nenchev pointed out. According to latest information, the current situation at that border is relatively calm, Nikolay Nenchev further said.
