Inspectorate with Bulgaria’s Supreme Judicial Council to check magistrates

The Inspectorate with Bulgaria’s Supreme Judicial Council is to control the honesty and the conflict of interests amidst magistrates, prosecutors and examining magistrates. Bulgaria’s National Assembly adopted amendments to the Judiciary Act at a second reading. The Inspectorate with Bulgaria’s Supreme Judicial Council is to check the asset disclosure of the magistrates. It will also look for actions which undermine the authority of the judiciary and look for actions which violate the independence of the judges, the prosecutors and the examining magistrates. The members of the Inspectorate’s administration increased in number with the new amendments.
