Migration pressure on Bulgarian borders rises for second consecutive week

The Bulgarian Ministry of Interior has reported an increase in refugee flows for a second consecutive week. For the past seven days more than 500 people have been detained, as more than 120 have been detained in an attempt to enter the country. Since the beginning of the year more than 2,000 people, mostly from Iraq and Afghanistan have been detained. Last week nearly 200 people tried to exit Bulgaria and enter Serbia. Since the beginning of the year, more than 5,000 people have been detained while trying to illegally exit Bulgaria, it was reported.
