The agreement for gas interconnection between Bulgartransgaz and Greece’s gas transmission network operator DESFA yielded positive results in its test period. Bulgaria will negotiate with Gazprom to extend that agreement, Bulgaria’s Minister of Energy Temenuzhka Petkova said during the 6th regional conference named Energy Development in Southeast Europe. Minister Petkova voiced hopes that Bulgaria would complete its first gas interconnector with Romania by the end of 2016. Bulgaria has been also working on the construction of the interconnections with neighboring Serbia and Turkey. This conference places some very important topics on the agenda. They are related with the energy security and development of Bulgaria, as well as of the whole region of Southeast Europe, Minister Petkova summarized.
