Minister Temenuzhka Petkova: Bulgaria wants to pay Russia for the Belene reactor by the end of the year

Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova has returned from Moscow where she took part in a meeting of the joint working group set up in connection with the ruling of the Court of Arbitration on the aborted Belene NPP.
“I hope that things will have been cleared up by the end of the month and we want the payment to have taken place by the end of the year,” Minister Petkova said. Under the Court of Arbitration ruling Bulgaria owes Russia 620 million euro, plus 167,000 euro in interest for each day of delay for the equipment manufactured for the aborted Belene NPP.
