Director of Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture arrested

Three officials from the Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture, among them its Executive Director Yancho Yanev, have been detained during an operation by the State Agency for National Security and the prosecutor’s office.
The prosecutor’s office specified that an investigation is ongoing in Bourgas and Sofia into EU subsidies received on the basis of falsified data. Many documents were seized during midnight searches of the agency’s offices in Bourgas and Sofia. In the interest of the investigation the scale of misappropriation is not being disclosed.
