There will be no problem to service the debt the for Belene N-plant, outgoing Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov has said after the approval of the state budget draft: „I am optimistic that we will obtain within the deadline agreed with the Russian side, a permission of the European Commission for the admissibility of this payment”, Goranov has said. Following a ruling of the Court of Arbitration in Geneva that the Bulgarian National Electric Company should pay the Russian company Atomstroyexport the amount of 620 million euro for the abortive project for the Belene N-plant, the Bulgarian and the Russian sides signed an agreement under which should the principal payment takes place by 15 December, Russia would cancel the interests on this debt.
