At least 7 die in cargo train blast in Hitrino

At least seven Bulgarians died on Saturday morning after the last 4 or 5 cisterns of a cargo train transporting liquified propylene and propane gas derailed near the village of Hitrino and one of them exploded near the local train station. At least 27 people were hospitalized. Many of them suffered severe injuries. 110 firemen were sent to the place of the heavy blast to look for survivers under the buildings that collapsed after the explosion. Many buildings were destroyed in the explosion. Bulgaria's outgoing Premier Boyko Borissov who arrived in the village of Hitrino said that the number of casualties is expected to increase and that there was no immediate danger of another explosion at the site of today's blast.
