Bulgarian school children win 61 medals at international contests in 2016

During the outgoing year, Bulgarian school children have won a total of 61 medals at international and Balkan Olympiads.

At international Olympiads - 6 medals in mathematics, 4 in physics, 7 in chemistry, 3 in biology, 3 in informatics, 5 in mathematical linguistics and 7 in astronomy. At the Natural Science Olympiad, the Bulgarian contestants grabbed a total of 6 medals, at the Balkan Olympiads in mathematics – 12, at the Balkan Olympiads in informatics – 8. Almost 750,000 euro (over 1,400, 000 Leva) has been earmarked for work with the students and their participation in Olympiads and competitions over the 2016-2017 academic year.
