After the region of Pernik, a flu epidemic has also been declared in Haskovo and Harmanli and will be in place until 4 January.

Elective surgery, antenatal and infant consulting services will be closed for the duration, and hospital admissions will be primarily for children and people aged over 60. The Plovdiv Health Inspectorate has also declared restrictions over the growing number of flu cases. Influenza has reached pre-epidemic levels in the regions of Gabrovo and Varna; the number of cases in Blagoevgrad is also up.
