All Bulgarian districts were covered with snow on Friday morning. A series of traffic bans and restrictions were imposed on the republican road network. Due to heavy snowfall, gusty winds and low visibility a traffic ban was imposed on all vehicles in Silistra, Shumen, Varna, Razgrad and Ruse districts in Northeast Bulgaria. Trakia motorway was partially closed in Southeast Bulgaria between the cities of Karnobat and Burgas. On Friday noon the traffic ban on cargo vehicles will be lifted in the section between Sofia and Kulata border checkpoint with Greece. Dozens of small towns and villages were left without electricity.
