After the delivery of two nuclear units for the "Belene" NPP to Bulgaria, Russian state corporation "Rosatom" will look for their proper storage, it was reported.

That is why an agreement will be signed with the Natsionalna Elektricheska Kompania, "Capital" wrote. According to outgoing Minister of Energy, Temenuzhka Petkova, the nuclear reactors were 100 percent ready and would be delivered to Bulgaria in early April. NEK ordered the equipment to Russian company "Atomstroyexport" back in 2008. The reactors were manufactured in Izhorskiye Zavody that are part of "Rosatom."

In 2012 the Bulgarian Council of Ministers decided to withdraw from the project, while in June 2016 international court sentenced Bulgaria to pay 601 million euros for the production of the reactors. The money was paid in December and the Russian company agreed to cancel interest over the delay.
