Greek farmers block E 79 at border with Bulgaria

Greek farmers have once again blocked the E 79 European route in the vicinity of Promahon border checkpoint with Bulgaria. The farmers formed a human chain, blocking traffic around 200 meters from the border checkpoint.

Traffic in both directions was blocked after 1 PM local time. The Bulgarian border authorities have informed their Greek counterparts that gendarmerie units are on their way to the road block. Interior Ministry Secretary General Georgi Kostov is also on his way to the checkpoint on the Bulgarian side – Kulata.
