Holiday & SPA Expo opens in Sofia

Caretaker Prime Minister Ognyan Gerdzhikov and caretaker Minister of Tourism Stela Baltova opened the international Holiday & SPA Expo in Sofia.

Prime Minister Gerdzhikov pointed out that tourism is a unique kind of business as it is targeted at people and helps nations get to know each other. Ognyan Gerdzhikov added that over the past year Bulgaria has been visited by over 8 million tourists from abroad who spent around 3 billion euro in the country. Minister Baltova on her part stated that tourism must become a national cause and stressed that it has a most powerful effect on all other sectors of the economy.
