Bulgaria’s Printed media accentuate on Friday on the ongoing scandals related to the photos in the social networks of public figures making Nazi salutes. GERB showed a yellow card to the Patriots due to the jokes and the Nazi salutes made by their representatives, Trud daily frontpages a headline on May 19. The newspaper notes that the Chairman of the parliamentary group pf GERB party Tsvetan Tsvetanov has apologized on behalf of the ruling coalition for that scandal and showed a yellow card to his coalition partners-the United Patriots. Only one day after former Deputy Minister Pavel Tenev left the cabinet due to a Nazi salute uploaded in his Facebook profile another patriot was dismissed by the Bulgarian government. Premier Boiko Borissov ordered the dismissal of the Director of the Social Activities Department at the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense Ivo Antonov. Antonov was fired due to photo of a Nazi salute made next to a Nazi Maybach tank, Trud daily informs on its first pages on Friday. We will not tolerate such photos and statements. Premier Borissov will not put up with such people in the government, the Chairman of GERB parliamentary group Tsvetan Tsvetanov said categorically, quoted by Trud. Standard daily published the position of Deputy Chairman of the parliamentary group of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms Hamid Hamid who insists that all members of the United Patriots together with Deputy Premier Valeri Simeonov should leave the country’s government. 24 Chassa daily notes that Valeri Simeonov was ready to hand in his resignation, but only if his resignation had been demanded by the United Patriots coalition and by their coalition partners (GERB). In that case I would resign immediately, Valeri Simeonov says. However, I would not resign at the request of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, Valeri Simeonov further points out, 24 Chassa informs.
