Foreign Minister Zaharieva outlines foreign policy priorities of Bulgaria in front of diplomatic corps

Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva has outlined the foreign policy priorities of the government before the diplomatic corps in this country.

Especially important for the cabinet will be the accession of the country to Schengen and the Eurozone. The main topics of the forthcoming EU Council presidency of Bulgaria will be Brexit, the debate on the future of Europe, as well as the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of the countries of the Western Balkans.

Relations with the countries of Southeast Europe will be deepened and Sofia will continue to actively support the Eastern Partnership initiative for political association, economic integration and the European perspective of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The main priority will also be protection of the rights of Bulgarian communities abroad and the promotion of their culture and national self-awareness.
