At a meeting in Sofia with the Vice President of the European Commission Jyrki Katainen, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov commented that the EC must focus more on combating cyberthreat and cybercrime.
According to PM Borissov, in view of the rapid development of technologies this would boost security in all EU countries. Borissov and Katainen agreed European funding must be spent more effectively and prudently. Borissov stressed that thanks to European solidarity, projects are being implemented in Bulgaria which are a major benefit to society, among them the Sofia metro and a number of infrastructure and environmental facilities.
