Opportunities for high-tech companies from China to take part in the first science and technology park in Bulgaria – Sofia Tech Park – were discussed at a meeting between Economy Minister Emil Karanikolov and the ambassador of China Zhang Haizhou.

“The project offers good conditions to Chinese companies and institutes which are considering expanding their research and development centres in Europe,” said Minister Karanikolov.

Possible spheres of cooperation include the construction of joint or national scientific research and innovation laboratories, cooperation with leading Bulgarian research institutions as well as demonstration areas for Chinese high-tech companies. Procedures have been started for regulating the export to China of Bulgarian farming produce and foodstuffs, including milk and dairy products.
