Minister Nikolina Angelkova congratulates sector for World Tourism Day

Bulgarian Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelkova has congratulated all employed in the sector for World Tourism Day, 27 September. It is one of the most briskly developing sectors of the Bulgarian economy.  For the government it is a priority, the minister said. Figures from the World Travel & Tourism Council suggest that in 2016 the sector and economic activities linked to it in Bulgaria generated gross domestic product worth more than 6 billion euro, or close to 13% of the country’s GDP. In 2016 tourism and related economic activities employed 363,000 or close to 12% of all employed in Bulgaria.
