EU Budget Commissioner GüntherOettinger told the Bulgarian National Radio that the Eurozone should be ready to accept new members. He pointed out that the European Commission supports Bulgaria’s efforts to join the Eurozone’s waiting room (the ERM-2 mechanism).

Oettinger explained that tools would be mulled within the European financial framework that would allow assisting the accession to the Eurozone of the countries outside the monetary union.

Günther Oettinger also believes that Europe should sign a new deal with Turkey to curb the refugee problem. He said that due to its flexible policy the European Commission had managed to provide support to the countries on the first line of the migration wave.
