During her two-day visit to Moldova Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva and her Moldovan counterpart Andrei Galbur opened together a Bulgarian consular office in the city of Taraclia.
The Taraclia region has been a Bulgarian national and cultural center since 1995. The city of Taraclia’s residents are predominantly ethnic Bulgarians and it is the home of the only Bulgarian university abroad, Gregory Tsamblak State University of Taraclia.
So far, consular services to ethnic Bulgarians in Moldova were solely provided by the Bulgarian Embassy in Chisinau.
