During discussions in Brussels on Bulgaria’s upcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker expressed his approval of the motto of the Bulgarian Presidency – “United We Stand Strong”.

“It is a unique chance for this marvellous country, this great nation of Bulgaria to show, to prove, to demonstrate that the Bulgarians know what is what when it comes to Europe. Europe makes part of the DNA of Bulgaria,” Jean-Claude Juncker said. The President of the European Commission emphasized that Bulgaria set an example in ensuring the security of the EU, in the sphere of financial policy, as well as in the implementation of the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism. He added that that the Corridor 8 project was also very important, linking via railway Tirana to Varna, uniting in fact the Black Sea with the Adriatic.
