To solve Bulgaria’s demographic issues efforts in the coming 3.5 years will be aimed at boosting birthrate, cutting youth emigration and promoting a new emigration policy. This was the answer of Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Valeri Simeonov to a question from MP Georgi Gyokov who said that over the past 30 years Bulgaria lost 30 percent of its population.
Simeonov thinks that a new system for selection of immigrants should be put into place. Immigrants should be young people, specialists that the country needs, as well as people able to integrate in Bulgaria.
The emigrants from the Bulgarian diaspora should have advantage to resettle in the country, Simeonov said.
