Legal entities in Bulgaria will now be able to create organizations of volunteers to fight natural disasters. This change in regulatory documents has already been approved by the government.

Until recently, municipalities had the right to create such formations. According to the change, legal entities will now have the right to select candidates, provide training, insurance and equipment.

Volunteers will be paid on the basis of hours spent in rescue operations. Volunteers’ rights to health and social security are also regulated.
