Georgi Cholakov inaugurated as new Chairman of Bulgarian Supreme Administrative Court

Georgi Cholakov was inaugurated as the new Chairman of the Bulgarian Supreme Administrative Court. Cholakov will have a mandate of seven years. Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev attended the ceremony. Initially, Rumen Radev refused to decree the appointment of Georgi Cholakov, but later signed the appointment after Cholakov was elected by the new Supreme Judicial Council. In her speech Bulgaria’s Minister of Justice Tsetska Tsacheva accentuated on the significance of the Supreme Administrative Court as an institution accessible to citizens and non-governmental institutions seeking corrections of decisions of the central and the local authorities. The former Chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court Georgi Kolev was commended for his good job during his seven-year mandate.
