Bulgarian President Rumen Radev met in Paris with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay. The two discussed issues connected with education and the preservation and development of cultural and historical heritage.

The Bulgarian head of state requested UNESCO’s financial assistance for archaeological excavations, for which Bulgaria lacks funding. Audrey Azoulay expressed support for the idea of creating an international research, science and medical centre in Bulgaria, using CERN technology that will develop into a model of European integration for the entire Balkan region.

President Radev also met with representatives of leading companies working in defence, the aviation industry, agriculture and food production, and urged them to enhance technological and industrial cooperation with Bulgaria.
