Norway supports the priorities of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, especially in the field of migration and the EU integration of the Western Balkans, Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg said at a meeting with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov during her official visit to Sofia.

Bulgaria is an important partner in Europe, the European Economic Area and NATO, Solberg stressed. Speaking to the media, PM Borissov expressed satisfaction that Europe appreciated Bulgaria's efforts to help the countries of the Western Balkans.

"We are doing everything we can to move forward the issue of the Western Balkan countries’s EU accession. Otherwise, the population is aging, populist parties gather momentum and the region becomes a territory forinfluence of the great powers,” Borisov said.
