87% of Bulgarian children use the Internet and this rate has been rising every year. One out of five children has had a meeting with a person they know only from social networks. In the web environment 48% of children cannot tell whether information provided is true or false. This was made clear during a conference dedicated to "The State of the World’s Children in 2017", organized by UNICEF and the Bulgarian State Agency for Child Protection. Risks to children on the Internet include sexual harassment, cyber bullying, etc. Often children expose themselves to risks, providing unnecessary information on the web.
