Construction of the Struma and Hemus motorways will be priority in 2018, the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works has announced.

The Hemus highway is of vital importance for the development of the northern regions of the country that lag behind economically in comparison to the southern part of the country, the ministry said. It is expected that construction of 75 more kilometers of the motorway will be under construction next year.

The section from Kresna to Sandanski of the Struma Motorway is likely to be completed in November 2018, it was reported.
