After officially opening the renovated St. Stephen Church in Istanbul, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said that Bulgaria, which has been holding the Presidency of the Council of the EU since January 1, had always tried to have perfect relations with both the Christian and the Muslim world.

"In 2018 we need to normalize relations between the EU and Turkey and make them the way they were just a few years ago. Fate has made us live geographically and politically close, to live in peace, to respect others, and today is such a day that the whole world and the Balkans will see how Christian and Muslim cities can be cities of religious tolerance," PM Borissov said.
