Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov is of the opinion that the prime ministers of Macedonia and of Greece Zoran Zaev and Alexis Tsipras can resolve the long-standing naming dispute by way of direct negotiations, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports.

Talking to the Greek ANA-MPA news agency Borissov stated that he was optimistic and that he encourages the two prime ministers to sit down at the negotiating table and solve the problem, just as he did with his Macedonian counterpart Zaev with the good-neighbour agreement between Macedonia and Bulgaria. Boyko Borissov stressed that Sofia would be glad to see excellent relations between Athens and Skopje, in the same way that Sofia enjoys excellent relations with both countries.
